Douglas MacAyeal

I’m a glaciologist who has worked on the faculty of the University of Chicago for 42 years. I am just retired, but am active in research (and occasional teaching). My current research involves the dynamics of ice shelves in Antarctica. I have an active engagement with the part of the university that is researching climate system engineering, particularly glacial interventions designed to reduce or slow sea-level rise.
